CMSS is a skills development centre, whose purpose is to provide independence. CMSS adopts a holistic approach which aims to meet the welfare, educational, employment, social and leisure needs for adults with learning, physical and sensory disabilities. Current vacancies:

Deputy Manager - Full Time (35 Hours per week)

Salary £26,000 - £30,000 p.a. Dependant on experience

We are now recruiting for an enthusiastic and positive thinking, Deputy Manager. The Deputy Manager will  be responsible for developing services and activities in the community, provided through the Skills Development Centre. The post will require you to deputise in the absence of the Service Manager, therefore excellent organisational, time management and people management skills are essential. A strong affinity with disabled people, proven management experience of at least 2 years, and a minimum of 3 years working with disabled adults or children in a social care setting is essential. A flexible approach to work is essential as this post involves working with adults in the community as well as at the centre. Additionally, the successful applicant will need to commit to attending 2 holidays overseas per year.

A thorough understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act etc 1974, and experience of carrying out Risk Assessments is also required. It is essential that interested applicants have a full clean driving license as this role may involve occasional driving, locally or to UK based holiday resorts.

Human Resources Officer - Part Time (20 hours per week)

Salary £16,640 - £18,580 p.a.

The Human Resources officer will support the management team in the successful administration of CMSS. Among other things, this will entail:

  • Identifying and commissioning appropriate training courses for staff
  • Maintaining and updating CMSS policies & procedures in accordance with current relative legislation
  • Oversee sickness and annual leave
  • Dealing with disputes and grievances in an impartial and proffessional way.

The successful applicant will have at least two years relevant management experience. Will hold a recognised qualification for CIPD or equivalent and membership of the CIPD. They will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of issues surrounding equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice. 

Community Field Worker - Full Time (35 hours per week)

Salary £17,000 - £18,000 p.a. dependent on experience

We are now recruiting for enthusiastic and positive thinking, Community field workers. You will be required to help our clients integrate into the community, and take part in social events, swimming, gym activities, and support clients in college.

 

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of one year's experience of working with children or adults with disabilities within a social care setting. A flexible approach to work, passion and a strong affinity with disabled people is required for these positions. Applicants interested in these positions must also have excellent organisational and people management skills. It is essential that interested candidates have a full clean driving license.

 Jamboree 2010

Would you like to be involved in a fun packed day for all the family? If your answer is yes then your in luck. CMSS's Jamboree is only three weeks away. On Saturday 3rd July we will be hosting our anual event, with activities ranging from live music, Tombola, horse racing, raffles, food, bbq, Bar and much much more. CMSS Lease

 We are pleased to announce that our CMSS lease has been renewed for another 5 years until September 2014. This will enable us to further develop and utilise our independent living skills area and our computer suite.

 

PLEASE HELP!

 We are currently looking for a community based building in Central Harrow for our Harrow Community Links Project. This will need to be accessible with accessible, disabled toilets, and be available Monday to Friday 9am-3pm. If you know of any building or large hall, which is available, or is likely to become available in the near future, please contact Betty Morris or Naheed Judge on 02088663711 for further details.

 

Can you help?

 Have you been attending CMSS for 50 years? Has your family been involved with CMSS for many years? We are currently in the process of publishing a book about the history of CMSS and we need any old newspaper cuttings, photographs, letters, or anyting related to the history of CMSS. Please could you forward these to Betty Morris and we will photocopy them with your permission, and give the originals back to you.
